The Alliance for Wildlife and Forests concluded its actions by leaving a legacy of achievements in preventing wildlife and timber trafficking

On December 13, 2023, in Lima, Peru, WCS held the closing event of the regional project "Alliance for Wildlife and Forests," which was implemented from 2019 to 2023, in a joint effort with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and the financial support of the European Union.

Information Sessions: Exploring the Impact of New CITES Provisions and Shark Conservation in Ecuador

In December, WCS Ecuador, in collaboration with Bitácora Ambiental, a digital media outlet specializing in environmental issues, facilitated a series of three virtual information sessions and a final plenary session. These were directed at environmental journalists interested in gaining insights into the context of the latest CITES provisions issued for Ecuador and their impact on shark conservation.

Brushstrokes of Conservation: Drawing Workshop in Trinidad, Celebration and Awareness about the Jaguar

Aiming to remember and commemorate International Jaguar Day, a Drawing Workshop was held at the Main Square of Trinidad. This initiative, led by the Autonomous Municipal Government of Trinidad (GAMT) with the support of the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), brought together various educational units from the area.

In Pastaza, Jaguar Conservation is Promoted Through Artistic Activities

In mid-December, a workshop aimed at the Shuar community of Kumay located in Pastaza was organized by WCS Ecuador through the Wildlife Trafficking Combat and Community Governance and Conservation strategies. The goal was to raise awareness about the various threats faced by the jaguar, as well as its vital importance for ecosystem balance and human health.
