CITES CoP19 was the “CoP of reptiles” considering a large number of proposals focused on protecting reptiles from the growing unsustainable trade. In addition, proposals were announced from the countries of the range of distribution that promote the will to protect threatened turtles from being vulnerable to trade, either by pet dealers, private collectors, rare species, or as food.
